Named for the endangered and iconic Irawaddy dolphins that live in the Mekong River near Kratie, River Dolphin Hotel features an alternative lodging experience to the Khmer guesthouses found in the town center and along the river. We offer a casual guesthouse style property which includes attractions such as our swimming pool and sundeck, tropical garden of coconut palms, mango and banana trees, and frangipani, and also a stocked fish pond. We have a full service bar and restaurant, and rooms varying in size and price reflecting the variety of our Asian and western clientele, including some tour groups.
Even though we are a short distance from the town center, the ambiance is quite different. The surrounding landscape includes views of the rural countryside, residential areas, rice paddies, and a typical small Khmer village. Many guests like to walk or cycle through the village to experience Cambodian daily life up close. The people are friendly and welcoming and the children are sweet and curious. Occasionally there may be traditional wedding celebrations in the village and sometimes our guests join in. Round trip transportation to the town center can be arranged from 6 am to 10 pm. Motors and bikes are also available for daily rental.
